Re-opening Tues Oct 9th. The remodel is going very well. Customers will be greeted with a new fresh look. We now offer a separate section for counter service/take out and a breakfast/lunch bar--all designed for a faster turn-around time for our hard-working community. Cafe hours remain Tues-Sat 8:00 am-3:00 pm. Looking forward to better serving our dearly-loved community.
We will be closing for our annual break. Closing for the month of September, beginning on Labor Day (open thru Sat Sept 1st), and re-opening in the fall. Lots of untrue rumors floating around town. Just check in here, we will keep posting updates. We always need time to recoup from the summer season and time to work on the cafe. Thank you Bigfork and our guests from abroad. Due to staff shortages, we are closing early today (5:00 pm). Beginning this Saturday we are forced to close at 5:00 pm for the rest of the season. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Grateful Bread is for sale. We are looking for new owners that will take this fast-growing turn-key remodeled successful restaurant to the next level. Michael and I plan to devote our full attention to farming-taking our small part in that 1.5% of the population feeding 300 million mentioned in this video. Food is incredibly important and our nation is in trouble with the declining numbers in farming. We want to do our small part growing locally for our northern community. We found out that we could not be owner/operators of the cafe and farm at the same time, we've attempted it for six years now--not enough hours in the day. With our property located at the foothills of Jewel Basin we fight more battles than most areas--a snow belt in the wilderness with short seasons among abundant wildlife, to name a few. We still plan to bake, cook and create great tasting healthy products but in a different way and without the brick & mortar location--using the fruit from our orchards, hearty mountain berries, and organic produce. We are excited to create an Aquaponics system in order to grow year-round. Our ultimate goal is to teach what we learn so others can do the same, starting with our grandchildren. Serving the community through the cafe has been a labor of love and we hope that there is someone out there that can do even better for you.

Starting tomorrow (Friday) we have a new menu (Posted on facebook). New Hours 8:00 am - 8:00 pm. We've added new burgers--angus beef, ranch chicken & beer-battered fish burgers! Appetizers include buttermilk ranch chicken fingers, calamari, fish & chips, fish tacos, chips & our house salsa. Hot lunch & dinner start at 11:00 while breakfast will have to end at 2:00 but quiche is still available all day. Sandwiches & 11:00 now. We are offering a daily 10% senior discount from 3:00 - 5:00. Lots more changes so come on in to give it all a try, like our new housemade biscuits & sausage bacon gravy!
